The Horned Red Dragon of Mars has a fierce determination and fiery will. Aries is the first dragon in the zodiac, ruler of the red planet and root race of reptilians. Power, strength, endurance and the ability to burn through obstacles make Aries a true force to be reckoned with. However, with this gift comes a tendency for this dragon to push themselves too hard and “burn out”. Aries can be impulsive and quick to lose their temper but are diplomatic and usually fair. Though they can be overbearing when it comes to adversity, they are powerful allies in times of struggle and conflict. They care deeply and want to light the way for others, but they must be careful about creating desolation around themselves. If their fire is not tamed with discipline, they will leave a lonely, charred path of destruction in their wake.
Aries are very hot blooded and passionate which shows in their relationships and life pursuits. They are particularly compatible with Sagittarius, Leo and Gemini. They are loyal friends and partners, motivated and extremely dedicated to those close to them and everything they do. With this they can require much in return. Generally, they are honest and up front, sometimes to the point of being blunt or offensive to those not as scaly. This can make it easy to resolve contention with Aries dragons though as they do not like to circle an issue for long. Aries have a lot of steam, and if they build up too much, they can self destruct. They can hold grudges if they feel they have been treated unfairly or if they are unsatisfied with a resolution, but are not prone to do so. The dragon of Mars is confident and relentless, direct in their approach, and often frustrated by minute details and nuances.
Aries dragons are born leaders and risk takers. They gain big and lose much. They tend to be physical creatures, lustful with large appetites for food and wealth, guarding their horde carefully. Aries also share generously with those closest to them, those they admire and respect, or those they wish to form alliance with. Spiritually this red dragon is primordial, possessing an inner unquenchable flame which desires knowledge and spreads warm light.
